The in-depth coverage by newspapers and news magazines of global, national, and local events and issues of the day has been relegated to the sidelines in the 21st century, replaced by news headline apps. Nor do digital media sites call attention to their inadequacies. This section includes examples from the Center’s extensive collection of print articles that have raised concerns about digital media addiction and reliance on the internet for news and information.
