The images here are from the online exhibition entitled “The Surgeon General vs. The Marlboro Man: Who Really Won?” curated by Alan Blum, MD to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the publication of Dr. Luther Terry’s publication of the Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking and Health on January 11, 1964 and produced for Cancer Network the website of the Journal Oncology.
The exhibition this material is drawn from was shown at the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library of The University of Alabama in November through December 2013, at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library in January through February 2014 and at the Texas Medical Center Library, Houston in March through April 2014.
