Who Really Won?
The images in this slide set are from the exhibition, “The Surgeon General vs. The Marlboro Man: Who Really Won?” which on view at the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library of The University of Alabama from October to November 2013, before traveling to the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library, Austin, Texas, from January to March 2014, the Texas Medical Center Library, Houston, Texas from March to May 2014, and the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Library, New Orleans, Louisiana in November 2014. Curated by Alan Blum, MD, the exhibition commemorated the 50th anniversary of the publication on January 11, 1964 of the landmark Surgeon General’s Report on Smoking and Health on January 11, 1964 by Luther Terry, MD.
